Mini First Aid is accredited by the First Aid Industry Body to deliver First Aid Qualification courses for those who require a first aid qualification.  

Our courses include; Paediatric First Aid, Paediatric First Aid Blended version, Paediatric First Aid - Outdoor Learning, First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid at Work, Defibrillator training, Auto Injector Training, and Adventurer First Aid - a new first aid and survival guide course for the intrepid traveller from age 16+. 

Public courses are available for individual attendees or courses can be delivered in house for a group of employees.

Emergency First Aid at Work 1 Day Course

The 6 hour emergency first aid at work class is completed as a 1 day in person course. The course covers what to do in an emergency situation with a child (over 1yr) or adult and is suitable for anyone who wants to receive training in emergency first aid within a smaller, low risk working environment. By the end of the course, successful candidates will be able to: • Understand the role and responsibility of a first aider. • Assess an incident including conducting a primary survey. • Help a child or adult who is unresponsive and breathing normally. • Help a casualty who is having a seizure. • Help a child or adult who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally. • Administer CPR including using a defibrillator. • Recognise and assist a child or adult who is choking. • Help a casualty who is wounded and bleeding. • Recognise and help a casualty who is in shock (from severe blood loss). • Help a casualty with a minor injury. • Help a casualty with a suspected fracture. All attendees will receive a course book. Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for 3 years. Free on site parking is available . The venue is close to bus and train links. Our blended paediatric first aid course is a 12 hour class comprised of 6 hours e-learning and 6 hours in person training. The course is ideal for early years practitioners working with children aged 0-5 years. It meets the requirements of OFSTED for registered settings. The course includes getting help safely in an emergency, roles and responsibilities of a first aider, infection control, first aid kits, assessing our casualties, the recovery position, CPR, choking, drowning, shock, allergies and anaphylaxis, bites and stings, wounds and bleeding, suspected spinal injuries, breaks/fractures, head injuries, common childhood conditions and injuries such as asthma and diabetes, seizures/epilepsy, extremes of temperature, burns, poisoning and accident reporting. Upon successful completion to the class you will be issued with a Paediatric First Aid certificate that is valid for 3 years. An e-learning code will be emailed to you after 10th July or following your booking being received if after this date. This ensures that your e-learning remains valid prior to your session. Paediatric First Aid

Paediatric First Aid 

This 12-hour course (6-hours for Emergency PFA), for groups of up to 12 people, covers the EYFS and OFSTED requirements for Paediatric First Aid. 

Also available as a blended e-learning course, 6hrs ONLINE / 6hr Class based.

Paediatric First Aid - Outdoor Learning (Full Certificate)

This is a two day paediatric First Aid course, which includes looking at outside scenarios and is particularly well suited to Forest School practitioners and those providing outdoor learning. The course is OFQUAL regulated and has FAIB accreditation.

It is ideal for those needing to complete their two day first aid component required by the Forest School level three qualification, for those already qualified who need to renew their qualification, and for other professionals working with young children outdoors.

 

2 Hour Auto Injector workshop

This is a First Aid Industry Body recognised workshop for those who will be working with children who may require the administration of an auto injector.

On completion delegates receive a certificate.

First Aid At Work

This is a First Aid Industry Body & HSE recognised qualification for those requiring a full First Aid at Work qualification.  This is a three day workshop (or one-day for Emergency FAW).
