The 12 hour first aid at work requalification course is a refresher of our most comprehensive course. It covers emergencies for both adults and children. It is suitable to give first aiders in most workplaces the skills to become a confident first aider. This course is suitable for those who have a current first aid at work certificate that needs to be renewing. You must have at least 1 month left on your current certificate at the time of your in person training. The course comprises of e-learning plus one day in person training. E-learning instructions are sent no sooner than 12 weeks prior to your course to ensure it remains in date. Successful candidates will gain a certificate lasting for 3 years. By the end of the course successful candidates will be able to: -Understand the roles & responsibilities of a first aider. -Assess an incident and conduct a primary survey. -Help a casualty who is unresponsive but breathing normally. -Help a casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing including use of an AED. -Carry out a secondary survey. -Recognise and assist a choking casualty. -Help a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or in shock. -Help a casualty with a minor injury. -Help a casualty with a break/fracture. -Help a casualty with a head/neck/spinal injury. -Administer first aid to someone with a suspected chest injury. -Assist someone who has a burn or scald. -Help a casualty with an eye injury. -Assist someone who has been poisoned. -Help someone experiencing anaphylaxis. -Assist a casualty with suspected major illness such as heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma and diabetes.
